  COVID19 Update

Like you, we are constantly monitoring the latest news about the coronavirus. Faced with many resulting challenges, we are doing all we can to help each grieving family honor their loved one in strict accordance with the most recent Executive Order issued by Rhode Island's Governor.

Governor Raimondo’s Executive Order regarding “Phase III Re-Opening after the three-week Pause”, dated February 8, 2021, updates current guidelines as detailed below.

Calling Hours/Wakes:

  • Are permitted at funeral homes; limit of 15 people indoors at one time.
  • Final viewings for family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children, grandparents) must occur one household at a time.

Funeral/Memorial Services/Celebrations of Life:

  • Are allowed at funeral homes; limit of 15 people indoors at one time.
  • Are allowed at a house of worship; limited to 25% of standard capacity with a maximum of 125 people.
  • Auxiliary staff or officiants, including pall bearers, clergy, funeral director, honor guards, bag piper, bugler, and organist, are included in the capacity limit.

Individuals from out of state can attend & must comply with RI’s guidance for residents and visitors.

Services Held Outside or at Graveside:

  • No more than 25 people can attend an outdoor gravesite service.
  • Auxiliary staff or officiants, including pall bearers, clergy, funeral director, honor guards, bag piper, bugler, and organist, are not included in the capacity limit. However, auxiliary staff or officiants must remain 12 feet away from mourners and wear a cloth face covering that covers their mouth and nose. Pall bearers should return to their vehicles once the casket is positioned at the gravesite unless they are part of the 15 funeral attendees.

UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES AND AT ALL ALLOWED GATHERINGS DETAILED ABOVE, everyone must maintain a physical distance of six feet between people who are not from their household AND everyone must wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose. Anyone who is sick or has symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend.

We will accommodate recording or streaming of the funeral ceremony.
