Foster - Barbara L. Hopkins, of Maple Court, Danielson, CT passed away on July 5, 2012 just hours short of her 94th birthday at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, Brooklyn, CT.
Born in Warwick on July 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward and Abby (Caswell) Pignolet, she was a long time resident of Foster retiring to Belleview, FL where she lived fourteen years before moving to Connecticut to be near her family.
She was employed as a baker for A&P Bakery in RI and later worked in the jewelry industry as a packer and assembler for Swarovski Crystal of Cranston.
Barbara loved to play bingo and cards and listening to books on tape. She was a member of the Foster Grange and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by four children: Wayne Johnson and his wife Eleanor of North Kingstown, Allen W. Hopkins and his wife Gail of Woodstock, CT, Barbara E. Tellier and her husband Lionel of West Warwick and William Hopkins of Woodstock, CT; a brother: Harold Pignolet of Greene; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Allen Hopkins, son Warren Hopkins and brother Robert Pignolet.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service. Interment in Hopkins Mills Cemetery, Foster will be private.
