Coventry – Lillian R. (Albro) Bartlett-Nelson, 85, of Main Street, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Nelson, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2012. She was also the wife of the late Walter I. Bartlett, Jr.
A lifelong resident of Coventry she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Cynthia (Richmond) Albro. Lillian was a teacher's assistant at the Washington Methodist Church Kindergarten/Nursery School; a volunteer at Kent Hospital where she was later employed as a transcriptionist and for many years a 4-H Leader. Lillian previously was a member and deaconess at Knotty Oak Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and vacations to Florida.
Besides her husband she is survived by her three children: Cynthia A. Warrender and her husband Roger of Coventry, Debra Griffin and her husband Gary of Coventry and Robert W. Bartlett and his wife Suzanne of West Greenwich; her step-children: Marcia and Jack Kempf, Harold and Nancy Nelson, Gordon and Roberta Nelson; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours Sunday 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Maple Root Cemetery, Coventry. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Lillian's name to the Diabetes Foundation of RI, 146 Clifford St., Providence, RI 02903.
