Cranston - Kristen Coutu, 29, of Laconia Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2014.
Born in Providence, she was the loving daughter of Suzanne C. Coutu; a niece of Paul, Gene & Marie, Richard & Maureen, Christopher & Becky, Robert & Brenda and Brian & Michelle Coutu and of Claire & Doug Wilcox. She is also survived by thirteen cousins.
Kristen graduated from Cranston High School West in 2003 where she served as Parliamentarian and President of DECA. She studied Business Management at CCRI and was a RI Collegiate DECA State Officer. Kristen was a promotional model for Big Orange Productions and she was fluent in American Sign Language. She worked as a retail sales associate.
She loved cars and was a member of Rekless Racing. She enjoyed going to the movies, spending time with her friends, shopping, making jewelry and summering on Cape Cod. She deeply loved her munchkin cat, Stan.
Her mother remembers her as a very loving daughter. Her family speaks of her having a quick wit and great sense of humor; as a loyal & loving friend; as having a heart of gold and as a feisty and very determined girl.
Calling hours will be on Friday, February 21 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mark's Church, Garden City, Cranston on Saturday, February 22 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
