Donald A. Gambini, at the age of 71 passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He is the devoted husband of Dorothy F. (Imondi) Gambini of Coventry, RI. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Cecil (Cotonir) Gambini.
Don had a successful career as an auto technician recently working with the Metro Auto Group. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Wincheck Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping and was an avid hunter. After retirement he had been a range officer for the State of Rhode Island Department of Wildlife and a hunter education instructor. He worked hard for his family and enjoyed making many memories with his daughters and grandchildren.
Besides his wife Dorothy, he is survived by two daughters: Dena Wilson (husband Ed) of Coventry, RI and Debra Behm (husband Brent) of Coventry, RI; five grandchildren: Kyle Wilson, Briana Behm, Zachary Wilson, Jared Wilson and Abigail Behm; two great-grandchildren: Addilyn Behm and Justin Fredette; a brother: Raymond Gambini and a soon-to-be great-grandson Braxton.
Calling hours will be Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM immediately followed by a Catholic Prayer Service at 12 Noon at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI. Burial will be private.
