Warwick - Crerar, Alice S. (Leveillee), 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Greenwood Nursing Home in Warwick, RI. She was the loving wife of the late John Crerar, Sr. Born in Providence, RI; she was the daughter of the late Aime` J. and Florida D. (LaFond) Leveillee.
Alice was a Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and Butler Hospital for many years and a pediatric dental assistant. In her downtime she enjoyed playing tennis and spending time at the beach. Alice was active in the figure skating community and enjoyed teaching and competitive ice skating.
She was a vital and active member of the Washington Figure Skating Club (WFSC), especially in the 1970s as a board member and volunteer. In 1974, she was president of the WFSC during a particularly important segment of the club's history as they hosted the South Atlantic regional competition at the Tysons rink. As a direct result of this competition, the Capitol Regional Council (CRC) of area Figure Skating Clubs was formed by Alice and others on the WFSC board to sponsor and run future skating competitions. Later in life, Alice continued figure skating and was the past president of the Augusta Ice Sports Center Club.
Alice is survived by a daughter: Claire Hosker (husband Thomas) of Reston, VA; granddaughter: Meagan Hosker; three siblings: Gertrude Ferry, Theresa Cormier and Jeannette Mosher. She is predeceased by eight siblings: Irene Lambert, Robert J. Leveillee, Lionel J. Leveillee, Normand J. Leveille, Alfred J. Leveillee, Claire Leveillee, Doris Kearns, and Cecile Myers.
Visitation will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Saturday, February 18 from 9:15 to 10:15 AM followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road of Cranston. Burial will be private.
