Our Continuing Care Coordinator is Sue Carpenter. Sue’s passion for caring for families in grief grew from the sudden death of her mother. Understanding the difficult transitions families must go through in the first year of grief, we believe that our care should not end with the final arrangements. Sue is responsible for sending our Continuing Care Series books to the families we serve throughout their first year of grief. Sue recently graduated from the Alan Wolfeld, Ph.D. Center for Loss and Life Transition, in Comprehensive Bereavement Skill Training.

Sue coordinates our holiday Time of Remembrance service in which we invite all the families we served over the past year to come back to the funeral home for a non-denominational service recognizing that all of these families will be struggling to get through that first Christmas gathering without their loved one. Families find this time to be healing and uplifting as well as supportive. Sue also oversees our Pursuit of Excellence program. This is a national program that Carpenter-Jenks participates in that requires extraordinary efforts in the areas of continuing education, community support, library and media resources, technical skills, and public relations.

Sue graduated from Warwick Veteran’s Memorial High School in 1981 and went on to earn an Associate in Science degree from Community College of Rhode Island. She has worked in the financial and legal fields before joining the staff at Carpenter-Jenks.
